Featured Guests of the Week: Fantagraphics Books

zapposWe are excited to have Fantagraphics Books co-founders Mike Catron and Gary Groth join us for this year’s VikingCon! Mike and Gary took over an adzine named The Nostalgia Journal—quickly renaming it The Comics Journal. Mike established Apple Comics in 1986, which became known for publishing war comics, particularly the long-running title Vietnam Journal.

Both Mike and Gary have decades of experience publishing, writing, and financing various projects in the comic world. Fantagraphics, founded in 1976,  publishes alternative comics, classic comic strip anthologies (including a hardcover Complete Peanuts anthology), magazines, graphic novels, and the adult-oriented Eros Comix imprint. Many notable cartoonists publish their work through Fantagraphics.

Check them out now at: www.fantagraphics.com.

Mike and Gary will both be speaking on “Getting Into the Industry”; Mike will be speaking on “The Modern Age of Comics”.
